Principle of shredder
There are three ways to shred solid waste
4.1 Shearing
This shredding action actually cuts the material like scissors. The shearing efficiency depends on the gap between the knives and the sharpness of the cutting edge. Liantai's shredder has designed a special method to maintain the gap between the knives, and uses the best alloy steel and heat treatment combination to ensure that the sharpness of the knives can be maintained after long-term shearing of the material.
4.2 Tearing
Material such as plastics and tires is more suitable for tearing. Tearing is to use tension to divide the material into smaller particles. For example, fabrics, soft metals, and tearing are suitable for the uniformity of the output particle size. The large coarse shredder manufactured by Liantai is designed based on this principle. Applications with low requirements for strength.
4.3 Fracturing
Material such as glass, hard plastics and some metals are brittle and fragile. They can also be crushed when the shredder's knives are not sharp or the gap between the knives is relatively large. Unlike tearing, brittle materials release energy when they burst and crush, and fragments of the material may jump up, so bystanders and machine operators should keep a safe distance, pay attention to eye protection, and wear protective shields.
4.4 Best combination
The three crushing principles described above (shearing, tearing, and extrusion) are all used in solid waste crushers. Our Zibo Liantai Machinery Co., Ltd., under the guidance of the introduction of advanced European technology and our own years of accumulated experience, will choose which crushing force to use as the main one according to the characteristics of the material to ensure the best combination of the three forces. For garbage materials, shear force has always been the main crushing principle, followed by tearing force. The extrusion force principle is mainly used in ore crushers. Therefore, garbage solid waste crushers are sometimes called shear shredders. For shear crushers, keeping the cutter sharp and maintaining the cutter gap is the basis for effective crushing
